The Charitable Sisterhood Of The Second Trinity Victory Church

The roads are flooded and the bridges are washed out in Pennington Gap Virginia one Friday afternoon in the Spring of 1977.

Less generous souls are staying safely indoors but in the basement of the Second Trinity Victory Church it takes more than a little rain to keep the ladies of the Charitable Sisterhood from fulfilling their sworn mission to meet and organise a relief effort for homeless Guatemalans.

On this particular afternoon they are faced with a small mountain of community donations. After all, one person’s junk is another’s treasure. But what they don’t expect is what else that pile of donations means.  What these angels of mercy discover as they do their best to help the victims of global disaster is the real meaning of faith, hope and charity. Friendship, laughter and humanity are not far behind.

This is a heart-warming play in the vein of Steel Magnolias.
