Communications and Social Media Coordinator

The Development and Marketing team plays a pivotal role in the sustainability and growth of Geelong Performing Arts Centre and its programs.  The team is tasked with maintaining existing and attracting new and diverse audiences and financial supporters, from within the greater Geelong region and beyond.

The purpose of this position is to create and maintain a high level of awareness of Geelong Performing Arts Centre activities across a broad range of media, key stakeholder groups and the wider community and to grow and develop Geelong Performing Arts Centre existing social media platforms and develop a content plan to ensure continued expansion across our brands and growth of target audiences. 

This position contributes to development and is responsible for implementation, monitoring, scheduling and placement, administration, content delivery as it relates to Geelong Performing Arts Centre’s website and across a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and LinkedIn and emerging platforms in addition to the development and implementation of public relations activity and publicity strategies which enhance the reputation and positive awareness of the Centre activities among target audiences

To be successful you will:

  • Demonstrated experience building & maintaining media networks  and a proven ability to generate positive media coverage
  • Demonstrated experience working with emerging communication channels such as social media and online
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality, manage culturally sensitive material, and communicate ideas diplomatically, sensitively and succinctly
