Geelong Performing Arts Centre is set to delight and surprise theatre lovers with a new season of nine productions that will take audiences on exciting and unexpected journeys.

Geelong Performing Arts Centre’s 2018 Deakin University Theatre Season will be launched on Thursday November 30, 2017, at 6pm in The Playhouse. Theatre fans will have the opportunity to discover an inspiring array of theatrical talent coming to the centre.

Award winning comedian, actress, writer and TV personality Denise Scott will host the launch, which will preview the nine productions and feature appearances by performers, directors and producers, along with video and live performance.

General Manager Jill Smith said she was thrilled to bring Geelong residents a theatre season filled with fresh and contemporary Australian stories as well as new twists on the classics. Some of Australia’s best known performers will be appearing in the productions.

“The new works are all plays of our times exploring contemporary issues with great story telling, and the imagination and energy of live performance.  In an increasingly negative and combative world the great debate that theatre can offer is to be treasured.”

Following a priority booking period for existing package buyers, tickets and packages will go on sale to the public at 9am Friday, December 1.

The launch of Geelong Performing Arts Centre’s 2018 Deakin University Theatre Season is a free event with refreshments following, but places are limited so bookings are essential. Please RSVP to Box Office on 5225 1227 or boxoffice@gpac.org.au by Friday November 24.
