GPAC’s Musical Mornings program continues in September with John Bowles and Michelle Fitzmaurice in Country Gold.

This narrated concert pays tribute to a century of country music legends including Willie Nelson, Glenn Campbell, Anne Murray, Kris Kristofferson, John Denver, Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, Tammy Wynette, as well as Australia’s own Smoky Dawson, Slim Dusty, Alison Durbin and more.

The concert features some of country’s biggest hits including Anniversary Waltz, Rhinestone Cowboy, Thank God I’m A Country Boy, Could I Have This Dance and Islands In The Stream.

Star of Australian musical theatre John Bowles returns to Australia to perform with long-time friend and award winning singer/actress Michelle Fitzmaurice, backed by David Cameron on piano, banjo and guitar with Paul Cengia on drums, percussion and guitar.

Country Gold comes to GPAC for two performances in the The Playhouse, at 10.30am on September 14 and 15.

The season continues in October with The Syncopators in Best of British, a unique musical exploration of Britain through the 50s and 60s.

Tickets for Musical Mornings concerts are $20 each and include free morning tea. Phone the GPAC Box Office on 5225 1200 or visit www.gpac.org.au to book.

Musical Mornings concerts are sponsored by Tuckers Funeral and Bereavement Services.
